We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the afPE Quality Mark with Distinction. This reflects out school's attitude to the importance of P.E, sports, and living a healthy life style. Our new Sports Council were thrilled to put our new trophy and certificate in our foyer, have a look the next time you visit our school!
National Walk a Mile Day
As part of encouraging a healthy life style and promoting manageable exercise our Sports Council wanted to participate in National Walk a Mile Day on Friday 22nd September 2017. We encouraged children and parents to walk a mile- a whole 20 laps of our All Weather Pitch!
Inter Sports Competitions
Tag Rugby
Today Year 5 and 6 entered a Tag Rugby competition, in which they played a number of different primary schools from Rochdale. Every one worked extremely hard to work as a team. the team were fantastic representatives of Milnrow Parish.
Athletics
Today we entered an Athletic competition. Boys and girls entered each task, we had a variety of activities from running, to long jump, to bounce jump, even javelin. We all enjoyed ourselves and participated well in each game. Everyone supported each other and encouraged other schools. Well done!
Football
Year 5 and 6 represented our school in a football competition today. We had A and B teams playing. Both teams put their all into every game and supported not only each other brilliantly but other schools as well. A parent and a teacher from another school commented on our Sportsmanship and team work.
Football
Our A team played in a football competition today and again showed fantastic team work and skills. The team are really showing how they are starting to think and play as a team.
Swimming
Today, 9 children from Years 4 and 5 took part in a Swimming Competition at Middleton Arena. The children were great ambassadors for the school and they swam brilliantly. Our girls came joint first in their relay race. The boys came fourth in their relay race and we came third overall.
Dance
Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 entered a dance competition at Middleton Arena. Everyone practised extremely hard for weeks before to get their dance perfect. The children impressed the school, their parents and everyone in the audience.
We came joint second out of 14 schools! Well done to all those children.
Intra Sports Competitions
During playtime and lunch times different year groups go onto our all weather pitch and get get involved in intra competitions. There is always an opportunity to have a football match. Children also enjoy playing netball or basketball.
